Experience the ‘Golden Fund’ (Золотой Фонд) in the comfort of your home Kultu.ru (www.kultu.ru) is an internet project that launched in 2005 with the internationally acclaimed internet theatre festival 'Theatre web'(Театральная паутина). Having started as a unique initiative, Kultu.ru has already many followers around the world. Its mission is to acquaint wide audiences with performing arts in Russia. The project has already transcended theatre, its main component. Musicals, concerts, circus and puppet shows successfully co-exist with dramatic plays on this platform. Every Wednesday Kultu.ru broadcasts pre-recorded dramatic plays staged in theatres across Russia. In its first five years, around 130 ‘Golden Fund’ plays directed by Georgy Tovstonogov, Oleg Efremov, Mark Zacharov, Petr Fomenko, Lev Dodin and the like have delighted internet audiences in 80 countries. The list of participating theatres is dazzling: from Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre (MKhAT) and Sovremennik in Moscow to the Saint Petersburg Opera and Tovstonogov Bol’shoi Drama Theatre in St Petersburg. True theatre lovers are also sure to appreciate theme series such as 'Great Actors', 'Regional Theatre' and 'From Golden Mask'. And so it has been for years. Now Professor Serebryakov and his beautiful young wife, Yelena, have returned to visit. The Professor chooses to unveil his shocking plan to sell the estate.
